“Misinformation”

It’s clear that Wikipedia doesn’t care about accuracy. Almost everything claiming to be misinformation has been proven a fact at this point. 199.66.69.116 (talk) 08:09, 12 April 2025 (UTC)

In a [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Joe_Rogan&diff=prev&oldid=1285577329 recent edit], someone inserted "Rogan controversially said in April 2025", but the "controversially" part seems to be just the personal opinion of the user who made the addition. It should be removed per WP:NPOV. 2A00:FBC:EEE9:5019:505F:EEB2:467F:B5A4 (talk) 06:48, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

:This isn't just the user's opinion; the sources say that he was "slammed" for this comment. 🏳️‍🌈JohnLaurens333 (need something?) 22:20, 3 May 2025 (UTC)

Change "In April 2025, Rogan controversially said that the re-emergence..." to "In April 2025, Rogan said that the re-emergence..." per MOS:CONTROVERSIAL - 2A02:810D:BC82:1E00:C6D:9089:3D50:76D4 (talk) 16:36, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

:The full sentence is {{tq|In April 2025, Rogan controversially said that the re-emergence of the disability slur "retard" is "one of the greatest cultural victories that I think is spurred on, probably, by podcasts".[149][150][151]}} I think a better idea would be: remove the sentence. The cites aren't to Mr Rogan's site and it's not clear whether he approves the victory so MOS:LWQ. I ping the editor who inserted: User:Theofunny. Peter Gulutzan (talk) 22:39, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

:MOS: CONTROVERSIAL says "Rather than describing an individual using the subjective and vague term controversial, instead give readers information about relevant controversies."

:The text here is not calling Rogan himself controversial and his statements are verified by the sources. The fact that the statement generated a controversy is also verifiable. As per WP:V and WP:RS. Theofunny (talk) 17:07, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

::Either way, it's not how articles are supposed to be written. Write what happened neutrally without inserting personal opinions. It's enough to say he made that comment but it's unnecessary to say in Wikivoice that it was "controversial", which is nothing more than an opinion. The source WP:DAILYBEAST doesn't look great either and the other two, News.com.au and Latin Times, are also not listed in the reliable sources list https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Reliable_sources - 2A02:810D:BC82:1E00:6412:F74C:FA76:9E5E (talk) 17:24, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

:::Are you supporting removal of one word or of the whole sentence? Peter Gulutzan (talk) 18:38, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

::::Either would be fine IMO 2A02:810D:BC82:1E00:F5DF:356C:2BC8:8786 (talk) 18:43, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

::::I'll revert Theofunny's insertion in a week or two unless someone new intervenes. Peter Gulutzan (talk) 22:36, 2 June 2025 (UTC)

2020 "endorsement"

Rogan said, "I think I'll probably vote for Bernie … I like him a lot." It wasn't much of an recommendation at all. Sanders used a clip of the quote for campaigning, and try to create and mobilize "Bernie Bros," probly to his detriment. 108.48.170.204 (talk) 16:49, 27 May 2025 (UTC)
