Request for expansion
This article can be improved by the addition of more information on the reasons for the changes in the active ingredient (in the 1990s from Kaolin and pectin to attapulgite, and in the 2000s from attapulgite to bismuth subsalicylate which is also the active ingredient in Pepto-Bismol).
