Kotitirtha Tank is located near the Kotitirthesvara temple in the Kotitirthesvara lane, Old Town, Bhubaneswar. Presently, the Kotitrithesvara Thakura Development Committee is taking care and look after its maintenance. The tank is enclosed within a masonry embankment made of dressed laterite blocks.
