kurmis are believed to be ancient vedic kshatriya caste,it is said that they are the decandants of lord RAM.

Existence of kurmis can be traced from a lot of ancient text such as maarkandey puran,vaalmiki ramayan, and may other ancient hindu texts in which they identified as the warrior kshatriyas.

Kurmi is not any tiller or peasent community as you mentioned,

I come from Varanasi region

In my radius , Kurmi have the most of land. In mirzapur most of land-holding belongs to Kurmi.

We Kurmi are very inclined towards land.

There is trend in my community that most of people are buying land and increasing their land holding

We are an ancient landholding warrior community and are majorly populated in Gujarat, Bihar, UP, MP, Jharkhand, and several other states. We have strong influence in politics and are educationally forward.

The references here are misleading since there are various words that sound similar and are spelled the same; what is used here refers to the Kudmi tribe in Orissa.

Also Kunbi is just a synonym of the word Kurmi, Kunbi are the Marathas Kurmis this has been accepted and concluded by the Maharashtra bench. 27.7.6.182 (talk) 20:24, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
