Is Leon any relation to Ivan Botha? Centerone (talk) 08:07, 9 March 2010 (UTC)
The article is bad but the subject is good, it needs a rewrite not a deletion. 69.196.138.32 (talk) 22:04, 10 March 2010 (UTC)
NPOV dispute
March 2010 - I think all NPOV issues have been resolved with the art critic/analysis language having been removed. The article looks pretty much just all facts to me at this point. Anybody else? Centerone (talk) 11:29, 19 March 2010 (UTC)
:Agreed. I did a little more cleanup and sourcing, then removed the tag. Jokestress (talk) 05:48, 21 March 2010 (UTC)
KEEP LEON BOTHA ON WIKIPEDIA
Our 4 year old daughter also has Progeria, but we know that Leon is not famous only because of Progeria. He was well-known for his art before even known for Progeria. It however is a big Blessing for all of us that he is almost 25 years old and still very healthy and supporting us always. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Beabooysen (talk • contribs) 14:41, 14 March 2010 (UTC)
I agree - Leon Botha is extremely relevant in the promotion and awareness of Progeria. He is an essential ambassador for everyone suffering from Progeria. To remove his listing on Wikipedia will be myopic. Please keep Leon on Wikipedia! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 196.210.47.8 (talk) 07:29, 15 March 2010 (UTC)
I agree with the above, fix the article but don't delete it.99.240.139.189 (talk) 02:52, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

Reports of death
I have reverted several IP edits regarding Botha's death until we have confirmation from a reliable source. Jokestress (talk) 02:10, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
:Both his official Facebook and a site called Don't Party (see reflist) have info. M-Net does as well, so theres some clout. FotoPhest (talk) 14:36, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
::A Facebook page and a blog are not reliable sources. Jokestress (talk) 15:06, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
:::I reverted to your version and have added a short article from News24, considered a reliable source on other articles. Jokestress (talk) 16:07, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
Botha's frustration with Wikipedia
Botha was frustrated that Wikipedia only mentioned the disease he suffered from and his collaboration with Die Antwoord and didn't mention his art. He wrote his own biography last year. See [http://www.boingboing.net/2011/06/06/in-memoriam-leon-bot.html In memoriam: Leon Botha, South African artist, DJ, and wonderful human being.] on BoingBoing. SpeakFree (talk) 14:07, 12 June 2011 (UTC)
{{cquote|One day over email, Leon shared with me that the passing mentions of him that existed on Wikipedia were upsetting to him. He was mentioned only on the page for Die Antwoord, and under the page for the disease he had, progeria.
"I was a bit paranoid that my art wouldn't be in there, in case something happened to me," he said.
Leon was very mindful of the value of the internet as a reflection of human life, and an archive of the living after they die. He wanted to be understood as a complex, self-determined, thoughtful creator and connector and thinker. Not as a disease, and not as a footnote in someone else's better-known story. He wanted to be known for who he really was while he was alive. He wanted us to respect him, and his work, after he was gone.}}
Though he did seem happy with the later additions:
{{cquote|Here is Leon's Wikipedia page now. He seemed pretty happy with how it represented him in the end, thanks to the thoughtful work of dedicated Wikipedia editors who took the task of crafting a living person's biography seriously. It's funny how something as simple and transient as a page on Wikipedia can have significance in someone's life.}}
