Burial at Graceland Cemetery (Washington, D.C.)

The sourcing for the whole burial section is challenging with all the loosely documented reburials, family lore, separated skull, and competing theories from historians. The first sequence in the article seems especially unlikely though:

:* The families were allowed to retrieve the bodies after 1869

:* In this case, they did not do so until 1871

:* Between those dates, he was buried first at Graceland Cemetery (Washington, D.C.) then at Holmead's Burying Ground

The problem is, per that first article, Graceland didn't open until 1872. - RevelationDirect (talk) 02:39, 19 February 2023 (UTC)
