Absolutely necessary ?
Is this page really usefull ? It only consists in listing hundreds of university honors and looks like a promotional article. Raoul mishima (talk) 05:36, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
:It was necessary to bring up the sourcing quality of the parent article enough for it to be listed under the WP:ITNRD column on the main page. It also meets WP:NLIST as sources often discuss the number of awards he has received. Aaron Liu (talk) 11:35, 29 May 2024 (UTC)
:Agreed. It appears like promotion of this man. These are not significant public honors of interest to the wider populous. Celica tom (talk) 20:58, 17 March 2025 (UTC)
::Neither is Homoranthus bruhlii. Wikipedia articles exist because we are an encyclopedia, not just because the public demands it. Aaron Liu (talk) 01:39, 18 March 2025 (UTC)
:::Hello all
:::I also agree this page is advertising and has no encyclopedic interest.
:::@Aaron Liu do you work for or have a special interest with this person ?
:::Also, some of the honors mentionned seem to have been awarded only once, like the Gandhi International Prize for Social Responsibility, the Rizal International Peace Award, the Golden Heart Award from the Knights of Rizal, the Wee Kim Wee Gold Award, the Simon Wiesenthal Center International Tolerance Award, the Education as Transformation Award from the Education as Transformation Project.
:::I will remove them, as well as the Medalha D. André Arcoverde, for which the source is incorrect. Babylone444 (talk) 22:26, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
::::@Aaron Liu @Celica tom @Raoul mishima
::::I nominated this page for deletion.
::::Please see that here. Babylone444 (talk) 22:51, 14 May 2025 (UTC)
Philosopher ?
Synthesis
@Raoul mishima As the person who added that information, I'm sure you know what new conclusion this presents (else why would you add it?). Only counting the Chinese honors separately implies that those are somehow more important than the others, and saying "none were from any Japanese university" implies that Japanese honors would be very important. You imply that there is some sort of illegitimacy in these honors. The example at Synth is exactly like this: an undue count that's synthesized with other things to provide a separate conclusion.
Now, the Onus falls upon you to establish consensus for making this change. As there is no consensus, if you'll excuse me, I'll revert this change. Aaron Liu (talk) 12:35, 31 January 2025 (UTC)
