The article states: "The Broadway and Seventh Avenue Railroad was leased by the Houston, West Street and Pavonia Ferry Railroad on June 30, 1893, and the lessee merged with the Broadway Surface Railroad and South Ferry Railroad on November 29, 1893 to form the Metropolitan Street Railway." :It appears that your book is incorrect, though some of what I wrote is too. [http://books.google.com/books?id=HNNAAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA119&dq=%22broadway+and+seventh+avenue+railroad%22&lr=&num=50] generally agrees with the article, though the dates are a bit different (since I hadn't found that book when I wrote this). [http://books.google.com/books?id=HNNAAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA119&dq=%22broadway+and+seventh+avenue+railroad%22&lr=&num=50#PPA133,M1 1874] is when the Avenue C Railroad was reorganized to form the HWS&SF. I think the notes I took at Talk:List of streetcar lines in Manhattan/Consolidation were from that book, and should be accurate. --NE2 15:58, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

This article does not account for the history of Fifth Avenue Coach Company's (FACCo) route #5 Fifth Avenue-Riverside Drive line, which formed the actual basis for today's Fifth and Sixth Avenues line; nothing about when its southernmost terminus was shifted from Washington Square (which would have come after the banning of vehicle traffic through that park around 1964) to Houston Street and West Broadway, or when the northbound route was shifted south of 57th Street to Sixth Avenue (was it then, or at the point of Fifth Avenue's January 1966 conversion to one way southbound?), or even the expansion of its northernmost terminus from 168th to 178th Street after the opening of the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal. The ex-NYCO #5's late 1963 discontinuance preceded all the aforementioned changes, and would have been of no relation to this route, except sharing the same number post-2010 merging with M6. –Wbwn (talk) 13:52, 23 February 2017 (UTC)
