Talk:MGM Music

Not a record label

Looking at the MGM Music web site, soundtrack albums MGM Music is promoting are not released by MGM directly, but by unrelated record companies. For example, the Best of Bond soundtrack album is on Capitol Records and the Casino Royale (2006 film) soundtrack was issued by Sony Music. Because MGM Music is NOT a record label, but simply the music publishing and licensing arm of MGM, the record label infobox has been removed. Steelbeard1 (talk) 04:06, 22 November 2010 (UTC)

MGM Records soundtrack catalogue owned by [[Time Warner]]

I've added a linked citation which shows the MGM Records soundtrack catalogue is owned by Time Warner's Turner Entertainment unit and was licensed to Rhino Entertainment which is owned by Warner Music Group which was formerly owned by Time Warner. The corrected edit was reverted to the erronesous edit which is why I reverted the erroneous edit and added the citation to back up the correct edit. Steelbeard1 (talk) 21:58, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

Since the last edit, a citation was found showing that Rhino's license expired at the end of 2011 so Warner Bros' WaterTower Music now has the rights to the MGM Records soundtracks catalogue. Steelbeard1 (talk) 02:21, 29 April 2013 (UTC)
