There's a reference to 3 transactions totalling RM42. I think this might be RM42m. What a difference an "m" makes. It's all a bit of a mess when massive errors are locked into place with apparently only a privileged few permitted to make changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.105.157.248 (talk) 07:10, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
Multiple questions now that Najib is jailed
I haven't found any sources for these, so I ask some questions meant for future edits to the article, especially the officeholder templates in the lead and bottom of the page.
- Is Najib's parliamentary seat of Pekan now vacant? Several Pekan-related pages still list Najib as MP. Do we have a source on whether an MP vacates their seat if sentenced?
- Is Kajang Prison being listed as Najib's residence correct for the lead table?

Change Dato' Sri Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak to Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, revocation of the title by Sultan of Selangor on 13/9/22.

:I was editing this in but then I noticed there are lots of other honours that appear to let him keep the title [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Najib_Razak#Honours_of_Malaysia]. Were all of them revoked? Banedon (talk) 07:33, 13 September 2022 (UTC)

User: Hee Leong
I think this user has vandalized this page by deleting a lot of information and facts about Najib. It is hoped that the Wikipedia admin will take action against the user. Hamba57 (talk) 11:49, 23 October 2022 (UTC)
:{{Re|Hee Leong}} fine to be WP:BOLD but why exactly did you remove so much sourced content removed, e.g. [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Najib_Razak&diff=next&oldid=1118365124 this edit]? Arcahaeoindris (talk) 11:02, 28 October 2022 (UTC)

Suggesting removing the honour "Honoured as Father of Transformation Bapa Transformasi باڤ ترنسفورماسي" that was inserted into the subject's infobox under the title of "Prime Minister of Malaysia" for two reasons:
1) this information is inserted without citations and thus should be removed immediately, according to Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons;
2) this information was misplaced. It should be listed in this dedicated section Najib Razak#Honours Hzhusha (talk) 02:00, 15 March 2023 (UTC)

Right wing mentioning
I think it’s worth mentioning that Razak is on the right wing of Malaysian politics, such as his association with a right wing party. Such mention should also at least include a category. Firekong1 (talk) 20:36, 12 November 2024 (UTC)
:I would object to this unless there's more text in the article on how Razak is on the right wing of Malaysian politics. Right now, there's no such text; a CTRL + F search for "right" finds nothing relevant. We shouldn't take "association with a right wing party" as indicative that Razak is right wing either; that should take direct sources. Banedon (talk) 02:13, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
::Then should we edit in a couple paragraphs mentioning his ties to right wing parties? I noticed this in similar articles such as Subianto, which states that he’s right wing and give links, despite the articles not explicitly stating such. Firekong1 (talk) 20:41, 13 November 2024 (UTC)
:::I would certainly say so, and those paragraphs would need to be well-sourced. Looking at the Subianto article, there is in the lede "He has been described as a right-wing nationalist", with three sources. Something like that would be appropriate. Banedon (talk) 02:18, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
Expanding the Controversies Section with Reliable References
Najib Razak is arguably the most controversial Prime Minister in Malaysia's history, given the numerous scandals and allegations surrounding his tenure. While the 1MDB scandal and Altantuya's murder case are well-documented, many other major controversies remain largely absent from the English Wikipedia article.
In comparison, figures like Ferdinand Marcos (Philippines) have extensive documentation of their corruption and abuses, yet Najib’s controversies are not as thoroughly covered here. The Malay Wikipedia has a dedicated section titled "Kontroversi Najib Razak", featuring over 700 references detailing various scandals. While content should be properly sourced in English, this serves as a valuable reference for expanding the article.
To provide a more comprehensive and balanced view, the Controversies section should be expanded to include other significant issues from his tenure, such as the press freedom restrictions, election-related controversies, financial irregularities, and various legal issues. Thoughts? 14.192.208.26 (talk) 02:40, 27 March 2025 (UTC)
:Even Mahathir Mohamad, who has been both Najib’s mentor and later his fiercest critic, has acknowledged and spoken extensively about the controversies surrounding Najib. Given that Mahathir himself has a detailed Wikipedia section covering various aspects of his leadership, it is notable that Najib’s controversies—despite their scale and impact—are not as thoroughly documented here. 2001:D08:E6:D35B:6F03:8C41:5742:D848 (talk) 02:47, 27 March 2025 (UTC)
::I think you should just go ahead and edit the article directly. It is semi-protected, but you can request the permissions anyway (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Protection_policy#semi). Banedon (talk) 02:31, 28 March 2025 (UTC)
Request change of time period of his UMNO presidency
According to the official UMNO website https://umno.org.my/en/ , his presidency started from 3 april 2009 to 10 may 2018 240B:10:9282:5700:1F6:E5A8:C147:1054 (talk) 16:13, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
Najib DNAA: A betrayal of reform promises
This latest DNAA (discharge not amounting to an acquittal) granted to Najib Razak in the SRC-linked money laundering case is deeply troubling. While Najib remains in prison for his earlier SRC conviction, this development adds to the disturbing pattern of high-profile UMNO-linked figures escaping full accountability under the so-called reformist government led by Anwar Ibrahim.
Najib is not the only one. Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi received a DNAA in 2023 in his corruption trial related to the foreign visa system (VLN) case. Even more concerning, Rosmah Mansor was fully acquitted in 2024 in her money laundering case involving millions of ringgit, after years of legal proceedings. This is no longer a series of isolated incidents—it is starting to look like a systematic rehabilitation of controversial figures once rejected by voters in 2018.
Many of us who supported this government with the hope of true reform now feel completely betrayed. Is this the meaning of "Madani" governance—to protect Najib, Zahid, Rosmah and the UMNO old guard, while the ordinary rakyat struggle with inflation and stagnating wages? Where is the promised accountability? Where is the rule of law?
I urge other editors to update Najib's article to reflect this latest DNAA decision clearly—and to ensure readers understand that this discharge is not an acquittal, and that other key figures close to Najib and UMNO are receiving similar treatment. This is a disturbing trend that deserves proper coverage. 211.25.195.237 (talk) 08:49, 21 June 2025 (UTC)
