Tom Nevers?

Wasn't this airport always called Tom Nevers Airport? I could have sworn it was. I know it's located in the Tom Nevers part of the Island. Stephen 01:10, 21 May 2006 (UTC)

:Yeah, and no mention of the TV show Wings? What's up with that? Sad. 64.90.75.56 (talk) 16:39, 28 September 2023 (UTC)

IATA Code

Hi, you might go "How stupid is that?" in a sec, but what does ACK actually stand for? A = Airport? And the rest? Thanks!

Original research

Most of the "Terminal and facilites" section is original research which should be either removed or supported. I will not remove it myself, but wait for a second to this suggestion. --User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 03:25, 18 November 2009 (UTC)

Orphaned references in [[:Nantucket Memorial Airport]]

I check pages listed in :Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of :Nantucket Memorial Airport's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "transtats.bts.gov":

  • From T. F. Green Airport: {{cite web | url=http://www.transtats.bts.gov/airports.asp?pn=1&Airport=PVD&Airport_Name=Providence,%20RI:%20Theodore%20Francis%20Green&carrier=FACTS| title=Providence, RI: Theodore Francis Green (PVD) | publisher=Bureau of Transportation Statistics | date=May 25, 2011 | accessdate=May 25, 2011}}
  • From Logan International Airport: {{cite web|url=http://www.transtats.bts.gov/airports.asp?pn=1 | title=Boston, MA: Logan International (BOS)| date=May 12, 2011 | publisher=Bureau of Transportation Statistics | accessdate=May 13, 2011}}

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 12:12, 25 June 2011 (UTC)

Merger proposal

I propose that Naval Auxiliary Air Facility Nantucket be merged into Nantucket Memorial Airport. I think that the content in Naval Auxiliary Air Facility Nantucket can easily be explained in the Nantucket Memorial Airport article, and the airport article is of a reasonable size that the merging will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. Also, the Naval Auxiliary Air Facility article has only one source and may fail the Notability requirement of significant coverage in reliable sources. --Hirolovesswords (talk) 20:31, 27 June 2014 (UTC)

  • Oppose per multiple sources that exist online, and the fact that this was first a Naval facility, which establishes notability. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 00:51, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

: Comment A discussion has been started at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Military history on general standards for military installations, and I believe any move decision on this facility should be delayed until it can be seen if a consensus can be reached there. Note that the current Naval Auxiliary Air Facility Nantucket has little content, and could be merged if not expanded. --Lineagegeek (talk) 14:02, 28 June 2014 (UTC)

Les Holm, not Holmes

Actually it'a James Leslie Holm (my grandfather) but he usually went by Les. Founded the airport at his Nobadeer farm with a Ray Morrison who died not long after in a plane crash at New Bedford. Then Dave Raub joined Les. A few family photos of Les have been handed down to me, I have one of Ray Morrison, a blurry and a clear one of Dave Raub, and a few plane ones. I don't want to make (yet) another account for a web site, don't really know if any of the photos (which I've scanned) would be of use to the article.

Destinations Map

Hello, I think the destinations map needs fixing but I'm having trouble finding the problem, please help User:Thomasthedarkenguine (talk) 20:02, 6 March 2022 (UTC)

Hanscom has more operations than Nantucket

Hanscom Airport has over 100,000 operations per year making it the second busiest in Massachusetts. It is the largest GA airport in New England. "In the year ending September 30, 2021 the (Hanscom) airport had 99,961 aircraft operations" - Wikipedia.

This is many more operations than ACK "For the 12-month period ending April 30, 2021, the (Nantucket) airport had 50,963 aircraft operations" -Wikipedia. 2600:4040:520A:4A00:DCA3:68D3:D203:A50 (talk) 16:25, 13 September 2024 (UTC)
