Nonrenewable energy sources
I just added a somewhat awkward mention of hydrocarbon energy sources into the beginning of the energy section of the article. The lede correctly identifies that motivation for off-grid may be self-sufficiency and/or a desire for environmental sustainability, but somehow the whole energy section mentioned only sustainable/renewable sources, neglecting off-grid lifestyle/construction elements where the motivation is purely self-sufficiency by necessity. In these cases, frequent in rural and northern Canada for instance, the primary energy source may well be a diesel generator and/or propane tank and heater. More could be done to be more motivation-agnostic in this section, but I put it in as a start. Martinp (talk) 17:00, 17 November 2023 (UTC)
