Black Mirror episode 2 "15 Million Merits" Penguin origami

In season 1 episode 2 of the Netflix show Black Mirror, "Bing goes with Abi to the audition and she gives him an origami penguin." This simple gift is a powerful symbol - of creating something valuable and special to the character out of a piece of trash - in the story and I feel like this should be in the "in pop culture" section.

I would like to suggest adding to the Gallery section of the page photos of origami that is made from materials other than processed paper (as it currently the case). The British Origami Society has pointed out a large range of materials that can be folded (https://www.britishorigami.org/cp-lister-list/materials-for-folding/), and the esteemed origamist and physicist Robert Lang has also pointed this out in his writings (https://langorigami.com/article/paper/). I have exchanged emails with BOS and Robert Lang, and they are both not aware of the use of flower petals in origami, which I have pioneered and have provided free access to images for this at Unsplash (https://unsplash.com/@plushzilla). I have also written extensively about the use of flower petals as 'paper' for origami in my personal website (https://hanakami.art). S4074433 (talk) 03:23, 22 January 2025 (UTC)

{{nd}} - to educate readers, it would be better to add a descriptive section under Types using WP:RS references. Adding images to a gallery with only a caption and without discussion of the technique falls under WP:NOTGALLERY. Further, any image added to a Wikipedia article must first be cleared for copyright and publicly available at Wikimedia Commons where there are [https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?search=origami&title=Special:MediaSearch&go=Go&type=image dozens of origami images.] Zefr (talk) 03:36, 22 January 2025 (UTC)
