Headline picture doesn't appear to really be PT-109
I don't believe [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:PT-109_Panama.png this picture], which is currently the headline picture of this article, is really PT-109. It appears to be a low-res crop of [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:USS_PT-105.jpg this picture] of PT-105, which is displayed on the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PT_boat page. Compare the wake, the angle of the 50-cal. gun barrels, etc. Ras07 (talk) 14:38, 13 June 2020 (UTC)
:Agreed. I've [https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=File%3APT-109_Panama.png&diff=prev&oldid=1138330028&diffmode=source prod'd] the image. - wolf 02:46, 9 February 2023 (UTC)
Who wrote to whom on Sept. 15, 1952
According to [https://amview.japan.usembassy.gov/en/hanami-to-jfk/ Commander Hanami's Letter to JFK], Hanami wrote to JFK on Sept. 15, 1952, but the article says JFK wrote to Hanami on the same date. Though it's possible that they wrote to each other on the same date, it's more likely that it's a mix-up of who wrote the letter. Can someone verify the cited source? --Happyseeu (talk) 01:49, 28 March 2021 (UTC)
Portion of this article used for book review
Portions of this article were used for the book review of PT 109: An American Epic of War, Survival, and the Destiny of John F. Kennedy. The author of the book review, dcw2003, contributed to a very large portion of this PT-109 article, including much of the content of the portions of the article used in the his book review, so this citation may not be necessary but is here nonetheless. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dcw2003 (talk • contribs) 14:27, 2 April 2021 (UTC)
Title of article
Since I'm coming late to this topic, which seems to have been discussed on this page, and don't know the various aspects of it, I'll say simply that the title, "Patrol torpedo boat PT-109," is awkward. It's as if an article about, say, USS Ohio were headed "United States Ship USS Ohio." The title seems as if it should be something like "PT-109 (patrol boat)."98.114.190.60 (talk) 17:00, 8 February 2023 (UTC)
Infobox photo
I don't see why one of PT-109's sisterships is used as the infobox photo, given the fact that plenty of photos of PT-109 exist and are used very often in all other sections of the article. I feel like it would be more appropriate to use a photo of PT-109 herself for what's essentially the main image of the article. Micheal Harrens (talk) 03:05, 7 October 2024 (UTC)
