Did Paul want to play bass?

See Andy Babiuk ‘Beatles Gear’, Backbeat Books. Chapter four cites an interview with McCartney saying he was ‘lumbered with it’, the others refusing outright to take on playing bass. ‘Bass players were always the fat guy standing up the back… We wanted to be down front to pull the birds…’ 59.102.114.35 (talk) 08:14, 8 January 2025 (UTC)

Change the article to be more impartial about paul's mortal status

I can't help but notice that this article plays off his death as a mere conspiracy theory, and not as a possible event, there's a tone of evidence yet we're forced to act as if this faker is the real paul! i propose that the start of the article be altered to this

Sir James Paul McCartney (born 18 June 1942, died November 9, 1966) is/was an English singer, songwriter and musician who supposedly gained worldwide fame with the Beatles, for whom he played bass guitar and the piano, and shared primary songwriting and lead vocal duties with John Lennon. One of the most successful composers and performers of all time,

if we need wikipedia to stay impartial, this action MUST be taken! 86.174.46.174 (talk) 19:59, 30 January 2025 (UTC)

:::Sorry yes, we are all Guardian-reading, tofu-eating wokerati (who think McCartney is still alive). Martinevans123 (talk) 20:22, 8 February 2025 (UTC)

Vocal performance on "Hey Jude"

I'd like to propose adding a mention of McCartney's vocal performance on Hey Jude to the Vocals subsection:

:Musicologist Alan W. Pollack calls McCartney's vocal performance on "Hey Jude" a "tour de force", crossing into "real soprano territory" at the end of a flourish of more than two octaves{{cite web|url=http://www.icce.rug.nl/~soundscapes/DATABASES/AWP/hj.shtml|title=Notes on "Hey Jude"|author=Alan W. Pollack|date=2000-08-27|accessdate=2025-03-20}}.

Any concerns or comments? Thanks a lot for your thoughts!

Note: I proposed this addition way back in 2012 (see here: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Paul_McCartney/Archive_11#Vocal_performance_on_%22Hey_Jude%22]). Back then, there were concerns about using musicologist Alan W. Pollack resp. his online series with analyses of all the Beatles songs as a reliable source for a featured article. Since there is now an Alan W. Pollack page and his work is quoted several times in the featured article Hey Jude (esp. here: [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hey_Jude#Composition_and_structure]), I suppose this is not an issue anymore. Paul in "Squaring The Circle (The Story of Hipgnosis)"

Hipgnosis were an art design group that worked with Wings, among other prominent pop/rock musicians, in the 70s. In the 2022 documentary about the group's career, "Squaring The Circle (The Story of Hipgnosis)", Paul features quite frequently, talking about how Hipgnosis helped design the album artwork for Venus And Mars, Wings At The Speed Of Sound, Wings Over America, and Wings Greatest. I didn't see this doc listed under his Filmography section so I thought I'd leave a comment here. Ntw04 (talk) 21:09, 12 May 2025 (UTC)

What genres are Paul McCartney?

Is he really classical music and electronic? What other genres are he (please provide a source) PostFloyd (talk) 22:48, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

:Those genres are appropriate because he has released classical albums, eg Working Classical, and electronic albums, eg The Fireman. The onus is on you to provide a source for "psychedelic." Pawnkingthree (talk) 23:08, 13 May 2025 (UTC)

::Do you know any references I can use to state that Paul McCartney is psychedelic music PostFloyd (talk) 23:10, 13 May 2025 (UTC)
