Date of birth

Catholic-Hierarchy and Salvador Miranda have 25 January 1945 as date of birth. Which one is the correct date? --Nixus Minimax (talk) 16:07, 24 March 2014 (UTC)

:The official biography on the Vatican website has the date change between 13 Apr 2024 (Italian has 25 Jan) and 18 Apr 2024 (English has 31 Dec). (snapshots of the web pages thanks to the WayBackMachine). Dcheney (talk) 06:17, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

::It was January 25th, and has been changed to December 31st: [https://international.la-croix.com/religion/age-mix-up-restores-burkina-fasos-eligibility-to-vote-in-next-conclave Source: Le Croix].

::Jan 25th in WebArchive between [https://web.archive.org/web/20150128042356/http://press.vatican.va:80/content/salastampa/en/documentation/cardinali_biografie/cardinali_bio_ouedraogo_pn.html 2015] and [https://web.archive.org/web/20240116124151/https://press.vatican.va/content/salastampa/en/documentation/cardinali_biografie/cardinali_bio_ouedraogo_pn.html Jan 2024]. ::Unlike some news sources, which are too eager to make it look as if Ouédraogo changed his age just now and with an innuendo related to a conclave, I kept my note skip the entire issue and stick to when the change had been discovered. -- wikimpan (Talk) 09:17, 20 March 2025 (UTC)

– A mere cursory glance at the article and Google search suggests the cardinal is the primary topic. The cardinal's article has more information and sources and he's a cardinal elector this year with a somewhat dubious qualification for it. The politician once held a minor ministerial role and has largely faded from prominence. Killuminator (talk) 21:16, 6 May 2025 (UTC)

  • Oppose to make the cardinal the main subject. We should be wary of recentism, the PAI leader was not a minor ministerial role but had a role in national politics as leader of the main parties in the country. If we had print media digitalized from 1980s the balance would be different. A better option would be to make :Philippe Ouédraogo a dab page. --Soman (talk) 22:25, 6 May 2025 (UTC)
  • Support. Even before the most recent news, the cardinal had a significant lead in page views [https://pageviews.wmcloud.org/?project=en.wikipedia.org&platform=all-access&agent=user&redirects=1&start=2015-07&end=2025-04&pages=Philippe_Ou%C3%A9draogo|Philippe_Ou%C3%A9draogo_(cardinal)|Philippe_Ou%C3%A9draogo_(politician)]. The disambiguation page may be deleted (WP:ONEOTHER). Adumbrativus (talk) 05:52, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
  • Oppose. No primary topic here. -- Necrothesp (talk) 13:30, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
