Temperate Forests

There was not much information rgearding the temperate forests. They list locations but do not specify what a temperate forest is and what kinds of organisms live there. I found a link to some basic information that could be put in under the Temperate Forests section.

deforestation badly needs updates

"At present rates, tropical rainforests in Indonesia would be logged out in 10 years and Papua New Guinea in 13 to 16 years.[53]"

The problem is that source [53] is from March 2008, so if those rates continued, there would be zero rainforest in either place today, 17 years later. Presumably that is not the case, but then that statement needs to be removed as out of date.

Other issues: "Since the arrival of humans, Madagascar has lost two thirds of its original rainforest.[52]" - source [52] is from 1990. Has the loss continued? stopped? has forest been restored?

"Amazon deforestation jumped by 69% in 2008 compared to 2007's twelve months, according to official government data.[57]" - probably should be replaced by a more general statement about Amazon deforestation rates over time; in 2025 do we care specifically about 2008 vs 2007? Surely the larger picture is more relevant to the overall Rainforest article; year by year details can be reserved for the specific Deforestation of the Amazon rainforest article.
