Unofficial Red Army Flag

The article states that a flag with a yellow star on a red background was the unofficial flag, but when checking the source its actually stating that it was a myth with no basis. This implies that it never was an unofficial flag in any sense, and it makes me feel like the article should not include it since it has no historical usage according to the source. 75.235.201.216 (talk) 04:56, 31 May 2024 (UTC)

:Correct. Removed everywhere. - Altenmann >talk 00:37, 14 August 2024 (UTC)

Banner

File:Soviet Znamya Pobedy.svg

Unlike marines and air force, Soviet ground forces did not have official banner [http://www.vexillographia.ru/russia/mistif.htm]. Various army units did have their banners, such as the one in the image. - Altenmann >talk 00:36, 14 August 2024 (UTC)

conflict in losses

Two sentences side by side give seriously differing "official" numbers:

  • " Officially, the Red Army lost 6,329,600 killed in action (KIA), 555,400 deaths by disease"
  • "The official grand total of losses amounted to 8,668,400.[3][4] This is the official total dead"

Come, mister tallyman, tally me banana. An clarification is due. --Altenmann >talk 02:43, 28 February 2025 (UTC)

Rapes

Added text: "The exact number of Japanese women and girls raped by Soviet soldiers and local Chinese mobs remains uncertain"

Therefore you cannot attribute all these to Red Army. --Altenmann >talk 12:40, 14 April 2025 (UTC)
