The Mughal royal residence near New Delhi was built as an octagon and surrounded by deep moat. The water flowed into the moat from the the Yamuna river.

it has two important chambers:

1>Diwan-i-khas;and

2>Diwan-i-aam.

Diwan-i-khas has the very correct writings :

"agar firdaus bar rooe zaminast- haminasto haminasto haminast"

meaning if there is paradise on earth,it is here,it is here, it is here

@Bladesmulti: Bladesmuti I actually undid your edit because you or I may be knowing that on 15 August India achieved independence but all might not be knowing that...so just to be more precise I feel that it should be added there for the convenience of those who are not aware of the date. I check pages listed in :Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of :Red Fort's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

In the morning, protestors were forced to divert to smaller streets after police kept the agreed rally routes blocked and shut off access to the city. The onward surge of farmers was met with police brutality.

A group of farmers (Khalistani supporters) did not follow the route earlier agreed and tried force entry to the route leading to red fort. When police tried to stop the mob, the mob of so called farmers attacked the security forces with weapons, due to which more than 300 security officials got injured and some were seriously injured and are admitted in hospital.

It was not as per the route agreed by Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM)—the umbrella body of the farmer unions protesting at the Delhi border—with the Delhi Police to take out the marches.

Delhi's Red Fort, or Lal Qila, is not only an iconic structure but is synonymous with the city. However, much before the Lal Qila, there was another Red Fort in Delhi called Lal Kot, which was built by Anangpal Tomar in the eighth century.
