Isotopic mixtures
It's not mentioned currently, but what is generally regarded about the entropy of mixing of isotopes? [https://che.k-state.edu/docs/imported/3.pdf This source] (Chemical engineering book? I wish I could find its title. It cites Kyle, B. G. (1994). The Third Law of Thermodynamics. Chemical Engineering Education, 28(3), 176-179 but that doesn't go into isotopes very much) suggests that it is disregarded, i.e. a crystal of the standard mixture of isotopes at 0 K would be defined to have 0 entropy. Obviously this would imply that the entropy of an isotopically purified crystal would be negative at 0 K. --Nanite (talk) 22:05, 11 February 2025 (UTC)
