Winning Bet?

I've heard that Rob Greens dad placed a bet on him playing for England when he was a boy, if true should this be added?

NB How much was won, what were the odds? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.144.197.35 (talk) 14:31, 14 October 2010 (UTC)

The bet that you're thinking of was made by Chris Kirkland's father, not Robert Green's.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.149.8.142 (talk) 17:38, 10 January 2012 (UTC)

No consensus. Three plus weeks old and two relistings means it is time to close this debate. As is usual with a no-consensus outcome, editors can strengthen their arguments and try again in a few months to garner consensus for this title change. Have a Great Day and Happy Publishing! • Strong support. Official Chelsea website and every news source I can see with a quick Google search (ESPN, Yahoo, The Evening Standard, Daily Mail) refer to him as such. (I've never even heard him referred to as "Robert." Even here in the States, everyone was talking about "Rob Green," not "Robert Green" after his gaffe in the England-USA game in 2010.) Anyway, I am shocked he's not already at Rob Green. A simple move to that page and a link to the disambiguation page should do nicely. Amccann421 (talk) 23:38, 7 August 2018 (UTC)
  • Oppose The BBC report of his most recent transfer to Chelsea refers to him as Robert and more to the point, he refers to himself as Robert.[https://mobile.twitter.com/robert1green?lang=en].--Egghead06 (talk) 03:45, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
  • Oppose multiple Rob Greens. Rob Green (film director). Instead move to Robert Green (footballer). In ictu oculi (talk) 07:03, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

::WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS. That director isn't notable at all. Unreal7 (talk) 20:32, 8 August 2018 (UTC)

:::Agreed, Unreal7. Since Jan. 1, Robert Green has 273,644 pageviews. Here are the other pageview counts for Rob/Robert Green pages since the start of 2018: Robert Green (disambiguation), 3,489. Robert Green (American football), 1,775. Robert C. Green, 1,188. Robert Stockton Green, 793. Rob Green (film director), 746. Robert A. Green, 649. Robert L. Green, 288. Robert Francis Green, 162. Those pages total just 9,090, by my count. There's a clear difference between the importance of Rob Green and all the other Rob Greens. (Stats from [https://tools.wmflabs.org/pageviews/?project=en.wikipedia.org&platform=all-access&agent=user&range=this-year&pages=Robert_Green|Robert_Green_(disambiguation)|Rob_Green_(film_director)|Robert_A._Green|Robert_Francis_Green|Robert_Green_(American_football)|Robert_Stockton_Green|Robert_C._Green|Robert_L._Green here], in case anyone would like to see for themselves.) See WP:PRIMARYTOPIC and WP:DETERMINEPRIMARY. This seems like a no-brainer to me. Amccann421 (talk) 21:41, 13 August 2018 (UTC)

  • Support [http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=10709 Rob Green] or Robert Green (footballer) per In ictu oculi. Would also support, in association with this nomination, the related move Robert Green (disambiguation)Robert Green.    Roman Spinner (talkcontribs) 18:15, 8 August 2018 (UTC)
  • OpposeRob Green is, and should continued to be, disambiguated. No primary topic. Robert Green should also be disambiguated, and the footballer should be at Rob Green (footballer) or Robert Green (footballer). Dicklyon (talk) 02:35, 15 August 2018 (UTC)
  • Support per nom and Amccann421. 109.156.195.83 (talk) 22:14, 19 August 2018 (UTC)
  • Support per nom. APM (talk) 21:28, 23 August 2018 (UTC)
  • Oppose. I'm seeing the better sources using "Robert". [https://www.premierleague.com/news/612828 Robert] [https://www.premierleague.com/players/2758/Robert-Green/overview Robert] [http://www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=10709&season_id=128 "Real name Robert Green"] [http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/n/norwich/1135257.stm Robert] [http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/n/norwich/3853249.stm Robert]. The RM nomination statement is unacceptably brief, the "per nom" !votes worse, User:Amccann421 apparently has not read the references. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 07:51, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
  • This Robert Green is not the Primary Topic. He is only of interest to English sports, and to football fans. Rename to Robert Green (English footballer). Robert Rob and Bob are interchangeable. Bob Green (footballer) will have to move to Bob Green (Australian footballer). Ugly, how "English footballer" and "Australian footballer" refer to completely different games. --SmokeyJoe (talk) 07:57, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
