Article issues

Besides proper grammar, there are various translation issues to be dealt with.

1. "Salve" technically means "to save" in a similar manner as "God save the Queen" for the English. Perhaps the translation can be adjusted to better convey that meaning.

2. "primeros los hijos del suelo" means either the "first sons of the soil" or the "honored/worthy sons of the soil". Either of these seems to be legimitate, and it is hard to determine which it should be.

3. It is, at least for me, hard to determine what exactly the phrase "Vió en tu torno a millares surgir" is supposed to mean.

:It is part of the phrase "y esa sangre fue germen fecundo de otros héroes que atónito, el mundo vió en tu torno a millares surgir". The subject of this sentence is "el mundo" which is said to have seen in awe ("atónito") thousands ("millares") of heroes emerge ("surgir") from around you (it is the homeland which is addressed thoroughout the song.) I would translate it as "and that blood was fertile seed for other heroes that the world, in awe, saw emerging around you by thousands" Aldocassola (talk) 20:34, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
