:::The classification as a creole is controversial, according to Marcel Diki-Kidiri (see, in addition to the first para of this article, the PAL L10n page). Apparently a key is its relationship with Ngbandi. I did hear from someone involved in some translation from French into Sango a few years ago that they had some difficulties with terms for animals and environmental terms - this would sound like an urban-based creole, but I suspect that the issue may have been the range of knowledge of the speakers, who were from towns. --A12n 12:50, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Sängö, Sangho, Sahngo (& changes in orthography?)
The first version in the subject above is what one used to see, the second is given in the first line of this article, and the third is what appears on the site for Sango lessons.
I noted also mention of a proposed new orthography at http://sango.free.fr/mission_ROS_2005.htm . I'll check on this. If there has been a change, or if there is a pending change that may or may not be accepted, some mention of that should be added. In the meantime I'm not sure what to suggest re the language name spelling(s) to give in the article. --A12n 13:00, 25 October 2006 (UTC)

- The musician gets nearly as many views (1,427) as the language (1,458)https://pageviews.toolforge.org/massviews/?platform=all-access&agent=user&source=wikilinks&range=latest-20&sort=views&direction=1&view=list&target=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sango_(disambiguation) but that could be recentism, per WP:NCL if the language is primary it should be moved, if not the DAB should be moved back to the base name. - Oppose. I'm not convinced there is a primary topic here (however, Sango redirects here, so that at least is the status quo). But even if there is a primary topic, the relevant bit of NCLANG is usually taken to imply a higher threshold, so there are plenty of primary topic languages that are not at the primary titles. – Uanfala (talk) 10:32, 14 June 2020 (UTC)

- Oppose as withdrawn by nom. although [https://www.google.co.uk/search?tbo=p&tbm=bks&q=%22sango+is%22&num=10 "Sango is" test] mainly points to the language, the next hit is Sango, Yoruba god of thunder, does not feel like a clear Primary on both criteria : NB have corrected Sango to a dab following PK2's article creation.
