Promo
{{ping|Cassiopeia}} Regarding this, I'm not sure what you mean. Do you think an external link to video of a deceased subject talking about their career is promo? I don't really care if the link is there or not, but I do think calling it promo is a stretch. Armadillopteryx 02:22, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
: {{u|Armadillopteryx}} External links are links, usually, link to their profile of the associate site of the subject and we keep it to about 2 external links - see WP:ELMIN. When the subject talk about themselves, the tendency would be part disclosure of their life/career and also in certain part is about promotion however slightly. We could place short important "quote" in the body text with citation/sources (no utube/social sites and etc) , but that is to be used sparingly. Wikipedia is an enclyopedia and not a promotion/social sites/news site/autobigroaphy. We merely record what is truely relevant to the notability of the subject and and important of the subject with the support of independent, reliable sources. ::I'm familiar with our basic policies like WP:NOTPROMO and WP:RS {{=p}} I have written a bunch of GA-level biographies of both living and dead subjects. I don't think an EL section with two links (including the deleted one) is in violation of ELMIN, and while I agree a video of a live subject talking about themself would be promotional, I don't see how that could be the case for a deceased one. No biggie either way, though—I thought the link added context, but it doesn't need to be there. Thank you for clarifying, and thanks for your help with the article! ::: {{u|Armadillopteryx}} it was not in violation of ELMIN and thank you for your understanding. Stay safe. Cassiopeia talk 03:23, 15 September 2021 (UTC)
