Invitation to Editorial Board
I do not work on anything relating to sensors or biosensors, and I was invited to be on the Editorial Board of this journal. To me, that indicates that it is not a very good journal. They also charge authors 1800CHF ($1,820 USD) to publish articles, which is another indication of poor quality. http://www.mdpi.com/journal/sensors/apc
: One email seems a weak argument to claim anything about the journal. This is an Open Access journal by a commercial publisher MDPI, where it is not unusual that they charge the author (APC), because they don't charge any subscription fee from the readers (or their universities/libraries). I just checked the journal further: [https://doaj.org/toc/1424-8220?source=%7B%22query%22%3A%7B%22filtered%22%3A%7B%22filter%22%3A%7B%22bool%22%3A%7B%22must%22%3A%5B%7B%22terms%22%3A%7B%22index.issn.exact%22%3A%5B%221424-8220%22%5D%7D%7D%2C%7B%22term%22%3A%7B%22_type%22%3A%22article%22%7D%7D%5D%7D%7D%2C%22query%22%3A%7B%22match_all%22%3A%7B%7D%7D%7D%7D%2C%22from%22%3A0%2C%22size%22%3A100%7D The journal is listed on DOAJ] and thereby passed their criteria, has [https://www.qoam.eu/journals/8917?returnUrl=%2Fjournals%3FOpenAccess%3D%26InstitutionalDiscounts%3D%26Title%3D%26Issn%3D1424-8220%26Publisher%3D%26SwotMatrix%3D good scores on QOAM], published articles from [https://treemaps.intact-project.org/apcdata/openapc/#journal/Sensors/ authors funded by well-known institutions], and an impact factor over 2. Thus, no, this looks like a reasonable journal. --Zuphilip (talk) 19:05, 13 August 2018 (UTC)
