All time Record claim for winning slam titles without losing a set
Winning three different slams without losing a set is not a record. Note the wiki entry for Maureen Connelly which states “Also the only player in history to win a title without losing a set at all four major championships”. For the record they were WM, US and AU in 53 and FR in 54. If this is to be retained it should be recorded as an achievement and, if so, added to the list: Billie Jean King (US 71,72; WM 67; FR 72) and Margaret Court (US 69 [maybe 65 also]; AU 61-63, 66, 70, 73; WM 65). Serena's Venture
Apart from her notable accomplishments in tennis, Serena has extended her influence into the business realm through "Serena Ventures." This endeavor highlights her dedication to endorsing and investing in a variety of entrepreneurs. Serena's sharp business insight and her aspiration to uplift others underscore her leadership approach, which prioritizes collaboration, empowerment, and forward-looking perspectives.[https://hidayatrizvi.com/serena-williams-leadership-style/#:~:text=Her%20resilience%2C%20determination%2C%20and%20ability,a%20role%20model%20for%20many.] Zeinab Alamgard (talk) 14:25, 8 February 2024 (UTC)

"Change greatest tennis player of all time" to "greatest female tennis player of all time" Luismendez2652 (talk) 17:47, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
- {{declined}} No. There is already extensive sourcing for the claim without any qualification (see footnote A).⇒SWATJester Shoot Blues, Tell VileRat! 18:50, 28 March 2024 (UTC)
To add to article
Shouldn't we add to this article the fact that the Williams family lived in Long Beach, California for three years before Richard Williams decided to move his family to Compton (in order to toughen up his daughters)? Source: https://slate.com/culture/2021/11/king-richard-movie-accuracy-will-smith-richard-williams.html 98.123.38.211 (talk) 01:37, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
:That source looks very iffy. Are there other sources on mainstream media that support this? Fyunck(click) (talk) 03:57, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
::While Slate is referenced frequently on Wikipedia, the specific part about them having the money to live in nicer areas but instead moving to Compton to toughen them up references CNN, which is largely regarded as pretty mainstream. https://edition.cnn.com/2015/12/16/tennis/richard-williams-venus-serena-tennis/index.html 196.61.103.195 (talk) 11:10, 5 March 2025 (UTC)
Art Institute alma mater
Is it alright if I add that Williams is an alumni of the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale into this article? I don't want to risk adding it and then somebody reverting me if there's some sort of consensus I don't know about. For reference, her attendance at the school is mentioned [https://www.vogue.com/article/serena-williams-best-looks-cfda-awards-2023-fashion-icon here] in Vogue and was also mentioned in some articles about the loan forgiveness approved for former students, such as [https://www.wlrn.org/education/2024-05-01/former-students-of-art-institute-in-miami-are-approved-for-loan-cancellation this one]. wizzito | say hello! 22:21, 9 May 2025 (UTC)
:Sounds reasonable to me. It should either be place as the first sentence of the fashion section or perhaps the second paragraph. Fyunck(click) (talk) 01:12, 10 May 2025 (UTC)
Semi-protected edit request - 2018 US Open final controversy
The article states that a game point penalty against Serena Williams "caused her to lose the match". This is incorrect - the game point penalty meant her opponent then had a 5-4 game advantage in the second set and still had to serve out the match. Surely you cannot say the game penalty caused her to lose, as this is a subjective opinion, not a fact Nickpsych (talk) 15:32, 14 June 2025 (UTC)
