Shingle style in NRHP-listed properties
There's a good number of NRHP-listed properties of the Shingle style. Elkman provides a list which I am pasting in here: Talk:Shingle Style architecture/NRHP examples. I'm going to visit the bluelinks on that list to update their categories. New articles created using the Elkman nrhp generator will include the category. Thanks, Elkman! --doncram (talk) 15:46, 16 February 2010 (UTC)
:Done with that. It brought the number of items in :Category:Shingle Style architecture from about 40 to 179 now. Many of the bluelinks are links to disambiguation pages, so the percentage of Shingle style NRHP places lacking articles is really quite high. Creating articles for all of them would really swell the coverage of wikipedia of Shingle Style architecture. I expect expansion will happen gradually. --doncram (talk) 23:16, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Article fails to mention gutters
The article fails to mention that architectural roof shingles can eliminate the need for gutters, which can be expensive to maintain. A simple roof overhang protects foundations and walls fairly well without significant additional expense. David Spector (talk) 19:51, 2 May 2023 (UTC)
