Some proposed changes
{{edit COI|answered=y}}
- Specific text to be added or removed: Remove "The Society of Graphic Art (renamed Society of Graphic Fine Art in 1986) is a British arts organisation established in 1919." and replace with "The Society of Graphic Fine Art (SGFA) is a British association of artists. It is the only British art society that is dedicated exclusively to drawing in all of its forms."
- Reason for the change: Change emphasis from old name to new name, and identification of SGFA's speciality.
- References supporting change: https://sgfa.oess1.uk/

:We cannot say " It is the only British art society that is dedicated exclusively to drawing in all of its forms." without a reliable independent source. Theroadislong (talk) 11:55, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
: Done the name change and the purpose; not done the claim to exclusivity for the reason stated above. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:11, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
Prooposed Changes to History section
{{Edit COI|a}}
- Specific text to be added or removed: Please change both occurences of "1986" to "1988", being the date that the Society changed its name to the one it currently uses.
- Reason for the change: incorrect date

:{{done}} The provided reference here in the request states {{tq|" In 1988, following a ballot, members decide on a name revision. It is now known as the Society of Graphic Fine Art."}} Because this reference is not officially connected to the Society, it leaves a lot to be desired. On the other hand, the official source does state {{tq| "their first exhibit in 1921....}} and then concludes with {{tq|...the word “Fine” was incorporated into the Society’s name some 65 years later}}. That would date it as 1986. However, because the official source states {{tq|"some 65 years later"}} the word "some" incorporates a bit of wiggle room into the dating. That, coupled with the fact that this discrepancy is only 2 years, any damage done by this date being incorrect is, one hopes, negligible. Regards, Spintendo 10:19, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
