Clean up: Los Angeles Rams: Los Angeles Era (1946-1979)

This section could be expanded upon and broken into subsections. It does ramble a bit. I'm trying to work on this page and then work on summary found at the main Rams article. --Pinkkeith 10:37, 18 September 2006 (UTC)

It's kind of ridiculous to imply that the Rams left LA because of the "humiliation" of the Everett blowup on the Jim Rome Show; it's not like Jim Rome then (or now) has such massive influence throughout the world of sports that he could force an NFL franchise to move out of LA.

If anybody can find citations (I don't feel like doing it at the moment), it was pretty common knowledge that the Rams ownership (Frontiere) was trying to get an improved stadium deal in LA (either improvements from Anaheim, the Coliseum, the Rose Bowl, or a brand new stadium), and the move to St. Louis was simply a leverage deal when nobody in LA would step up and build a new stadium. JStarStar (talk) 00:22, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

The last paragraph under the heading, "1983–1991: Robinson takes over the Rams" begins by referencing a trade that isn't spelled out prior - this makes absolutely no sense. The whole article rambles and there is frequent use of poor grammar and even an occasional misspelled word. I have made a couple of minor corrections, but this article needs a major overhaul, including the elimination of opinion, such as that cited above. The article, I believe, would also benefit from a list of Rams players enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and maybe even the notation of Rams Pro Bowl selections if the article remains broken down by years. Further, in my opinion, the article might benefit from a list of Rams great players through the years - notable quarterbacks, running backs, etc. - just a suggestion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Akda18 (talkcontribs) 16:08, 13 September 2010 (UTC)

1946–1948: Starting over in Los Angeles

 1. January 12: The owners meeting was opened on January 11th on which day they fired Layden. The seconday day of the meeting Bell became commissioner and they then dealt with the transfer issue of the Rams, which was settled that day—the 12th. 66.234.33.8 (talk) 12:51, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

Merge tag from Bert Bell

This really will just add detail about the move to this article and get it out of bert bell. I think 2 sentences will be remove from Bell and moved here. I will also add one or 2 sentences about the championship game drawing a pitiful crowd to further support Reeves' rationale to leave Cleveland. Also, there maybe another sentence I add that shows he really wanted to leave Cleveland since 1941. One of the citations from Davis, from Papa Bear, will include his rendition of the move as being a catalyst in completing Reeves' move. Bear in mind, every biographer always says their subject was the main guy behind everything. 66.234.33.8 (talk) 22:03, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

: Merge from Bell achieved. I am sure some loose ends need to be tied up w respect to citations. 66.234.33.8 (talk) 18:56, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Is anyone active on History of the St. Louis Rams

66.234.33.8 (talk) 22:41, 22 October 2011 (UTC)

:This probably will not get updated until after the 2011 season is over. Most of the current activity is on the 2011 St. Louis Rams season page. Zzyzx11 (talk) 00:23, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

Merge tags on history

Guys, featured content has to detail what the extent of the article covers. Please pick a date when this article's to allow the St. Louis Rams to take over. It looks like when they moved to St. Louis is when this article stops. 66.234.33.8 (talk) 13:37, 23 October 2011 (UTC)

AFL & NFL Rams

I removed:

:Because none of the team personnel followed Marshman into the league, the NFL Rams are considered a separate entity from the 1936 AFL Rams.

I asked for a citation on this a long time ago and still haven't gotten one. I've never heard this before. The NFL doesn't recognize the AFL Rams at all since they didn't obtain rights to the league. They also didn't buyout the Rams from the AFL, rather the franchise moved to a different league. The 1936 being left out of official records and NFL afflicted publications about the Rams has more to do with legal matters rather then a change in staff and team personnel. you need to go through all the links to ST Louis Rams and correct the ones that do not go the 1995-2015 era. i just changed a few from the Cleveland Rams era and first LA Rams era otherwise redirect st louis rams to Los Angeles Rams, — Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.59.72.188 (talk) 01:49, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

::Also the recent seasons need to be put through summary style more. The article suffers from recentism due to this, move the info to the season articles or create a subpage, like this one. Quadzilla99 10:54, 21 April 2007 (UTC)}}

Merge National Car Rental Field?

Is there any point to having any article on an unbuilt stadium at National Car Rental Field. I suggest that be merged here. Plantdrew (talk) 03:25, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

:Oppose. While the stadium was proposed in order to keep the Rams in St. Louis, it failed. Now the city has to pay those proposal costs with not much to show for it. That is notable in its own right. --Frmorrison (talk) 21:07, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
