Proposing Move

Move to Stephen Pongracz per MOS:SAINTS. --evrik (talk) 03:32, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

  • Don't really mind as long as both names are mentioned in the lead. A Google search for both names in English articles shows István and Stephen to be pretty equally used. Pjposullivan (talk) 09:13, 27 May 2020 (UTC)

:* No reason to move.(KIENGIR (talk) 01:22, 29 May 2020 (UTC))

::*On en.wiki we use the English name. --evrik (talk) 02:39, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

::E.g. if it is overwhlemingly used in that form in English sources.(KIENGIR (talk) 17:51, 29 May 2020 (UTC))

:::*The standard of the Catholic Church, from which the MOS:SAINTS convention comes from, is that the names are written in the from of the language being spoken. --evrik (talk) 18:24, 29 May 2020 (UTC)

::::You want to suggest the subject spoke English?(KIENGIR (talk) 20:58, 29 May 2020 (UTC))

:::::I must admit even the English-speaking Jesuits refer to him as Stephen. It's in line with WP:COMMONNAME and English Google search results for Stephen Pongracz are more than double Istvan Pongracz. Pjposullivan (talk) 07:24, 30 May 2020 (UTC)

feast day

the Jesuits have moved his feast day to Jan 19 - Martyrs of the Reformation. --2607:FEA8:D5DF:1AF0:6C1D:F0C8:E12D:9313 (talk) 22:22, 7 September 2020 (UTC)

A mistake

In the text we read Košice, in the Diocese of Bielsko-Żywiecka. This is a mistake, as the Diocese Bielsko-Żywiecka is a Polish diocese. 31.182.221.131 (talk) 21:55, 16 December 2024 (UTC)
