Canadians in the USA
Why is this section written exclusively for Canadians in the USA. It is the same procedure for Americans in Canada. Given the current statistical trend with Americans entering Canada on TN, this should be modified to reflect the relationship between both countries. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.229.57.146 (talk) 00:09, 12 September 2012 (UTC)
Stamped "Bad Alien"
This content sounds like it is an unverifiable personal experience and I cannot find any policy from USCIS that mirrors this. I've known several TN rejections, and this never happened. There are no cited sources.
I'm not removing it anymore. If anyone really cares about the topic, go ahead and try to make this entry meaningful as an encyclopedia.Offshore1 20:44, 10 September 2007 (UTC)
I've been denied a TN Visa a number of times (because I didn't have the correct documentation) and I think they "withdrew" the application. I was fingerprinted and photographed then turned away... came back later with the correct documentation and was let in fine. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.181.60.33 (talk) 16:12, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
TN-1
When I had a TN "visa", a lot of people (my employer's HR department, some customs people, etc) called it a "TN-1". Is that common enough that it should be mentioned in the article? -- Paul T —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.207.169.30 (talk) 22:18, 26 November 2007 (UTC)
Based on the search results for our site, not at all. On our site, it accounts for less than 2% of the search terms, and tn-related keywords account for ~50% of our traffic. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.176.197.56 (talk) 19:27, 4 May 2011 (UTC)
Dubious
This is vandalism, right? I can't believe that if refused you'd be expected to give the medical conditions of your parents, spouse and children! I'll delete the statement in a day or two unless I hear otherwise. (EhJJ) 16:37, 8 December 2007 (UTC)
:I've removed the [http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=TN_status&diff=177199062&oldid=176586510 dubious (and almost certainly false) statement] from the article. (EhJJ) 13:01, 11 December 2007 (UTC)
Allowed occupations?
Is there a list of occupations that the TN status covers?
:Here's the list from [http://www.worldtradelaw.net/nafta/chap-16.pdf NAFTA Chapter Sixteen Appendix 1603.D.1].
:I'm not sure if this list is the most updated one or not but it's the best I can find. I've added the following table to the main article. If someone can do a better job at formatting it please go ahead, or if someone has a more up to date list of accepted professions please update the table.--Corilof (talk) 20:36, 27 January 2009 (UTC)

Is "TN" the right terminology for Americans working in Canada or Mexico?
I thought TN only refers to Canadians and Mexicans working in the US. I know NAFTA grants Americans certain rights for working in Canada and Mexico but I don't think these are called "TN". Can someone verify this? Krubo (talk) 00:24, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
Much of this article is strictly from the perspective of the US. The immigration law as well as the terminology and instrument for the work authorization as well as the process that a worker executes to obtain it under this Treaty is different in each of the three countries (US, Canada, Mexico). Rather than remove information and descriptions relevant to Canada and Mexico, it should remain in this article under a heading for each country. In US, it is defined as a TN visa under US immigration law. Not so in Canada or Mexico. In fact, in Canada, it is not even defined as a visa but rather Temporary Work Permit. Process and cost to apply for it are slightly different in each country. (talk) 22:10, 18 January 2019 (UTC)
