:Tabasco sauce → {{no redirect|Tabasco (sauce)}} – Tabasco is the name of the brand to which this article is about. If we decide it should not be shortened to Tabasco, it would be "Tabasco Brand" Astros4477 (Talk) 18:37, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose, the WP:NATURALDISAMBIGUATION is preferred over adding a parenthetical disambiguation, and plenty of sources refer to the sauce and the family of sauces as "Tabasco sauce".--Cerebral726 (talk) 18:49, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- Oppose. As the above comment says, natural disambiguation is preferred to parenthetical disambiguation in titles. Rreagan007 (talk) 20:01, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
:Understandable - however, should it be a capitalized "Sauce" because it is referring to an actual brand?-- Astros4477 (Talk) 21:57, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
::No, because as you have pointed out, the name of the brand is just "Tabasco" and not "Tabasco Sauce". The "sauce" here is just a descriptor and not part of the brand name. Rreagan007 (talk) 22:34, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
- Support This isn't a proper article to use natural disambiguation, since the sauce is not just from Tabasco in Mexico. "Tabasco" is the brand name, not the location the sauce is from - so it could be confusing with a title like this.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 02:38, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
::As it is commonly referred to as "Tabasco sauce", no one familiar with the topic of the article would be confused by the current title, and that is the standard that we use. From Wikipedia:Article titles: "The title is a name or description of the subject that someone familiar with, although not necessarily an expert in, the subject area will recognize." Rreagan007 (talk) 07:49, 31 December 2021 (UTC)
:::"It" being what exactly? Because as Philoserf points out below, "Tabasco sauce" usually just refers to the original recipe, while Tabasco brand sauce refers to the entire catalogue of condiments. ZXCVBNM (TALK) 00:31, 1 January 2022 (UTC)
- Support—The article covers the brands many sauces, plural. The brand offers sauces, marinades, condiments, and other products that are not food.
Unless we want to rewite this article as one about the Tabasco brand in whole, this renaming makes sense. —¿philoserf? (talk) 16:43, 31 December 2021 (UTC) - Oppose as the article is already at a natural disambiguator which is still a term that has merit as a potential WP:COMMONNAME as demonstrated by the following: [https://www.mashed.com/708410/best-substitutes-for-sambal-oelek/] [https://crosscut.com/culture/2021/12/mossbacks-northwest-origins-crab-louis-nws-quintessential-salad] [https://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1022841-shrimp-cocktail] etc. -"Ghost of Dan Gurney" 17:35, 31 December 2021 (UTC)

Edits for "Uses"
I found what seem to be a few errors in the "Uses" section, specifically under "Cookbooks". I edited the article accordingly, to the best of my knowledge. These are the statements I thought had issues:
- "During the Vietnam War, Brigadier General Walter S. McIlhenny issued The Charlie Ration Cookbook." - This is true (though it's perhaps more correct to say "the McIlhenny Company issued..."), but it cites the NPR feature "TABASCO's Hot History", and that does not mention the cookbook (in both the audio and text forms). However, Caitlin Kearney's article for the National Museum of American History does describe that cookbook, so I substituted the NPR article with Kearney's article..
- "[The Charlie Ration Cookbook] instructed troops...to make such meals as 'Combat Canapés'..." - The cookbook does not include the former recipe. This seems to be part of [https://archive.org/details/officiallitehist00rott/ a later cookbook from the Gulf War]. (It does include the other recipe mentioned, "Breast of Chicken under Bullets.")
- "This cookbook came...in a camouflaged, water-resistant container." - The sources used for this section do not mention it being camouflaged, though I do not discount the possibility that another source mentions this. For now, it's cut.

:{{re|Still-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Butter}} You're a user, you're welcome to fix those errors. Please change your name. - FlightTime (open channel) 01:10, 23 May 2025 (UTC)
:: I think there might be a misunderstanding? I said I fixed these errors (or at least tried to). I'm also not sure what you mean by "change your name." What part should I change? Still-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Butter (talk) 23:00, 24 May 2025 (UTC)
:::I'm guessing that this refers to changing your user name per WP:NAMEGUIDE. Your name closely resembles the brand I Can't Believe It's Not Butter!. — ERcheck (talk) 01:01, 25 May 2025 (UTC)
::::I thought it was dissimilar enough, but it seems it is not. It looks like I'll have to think of a new one and head off to Wikipedia:Changing username, then. Still-Can't-Believe-It's-Not-Butter (talk) 02:08, 26 May 2025 (UTC)
