Merge "[[telegraph boy]]" into "[[telegram messenger]]" (or vice versa)

"Telegram messenger" and "telegraph boy" cover the same (now largely obsolete) occupation, except that one term was used mainly in the United Kingdom and the other term was more common in the United States. I see no reason why these two articles shouldn't be merged, and will do so after several days have passed. fish storm (talk) 22:14, 12 October 2014 (UTC)

confusing title

Looking at:

  • [https://books.google.com/ngrams/graph?content=telegram+messenger%2Ctelegram+boy%2Ctelegraph+boy%2Ctelegraph+messenger&year_start=1800&year_end=2022&corpus=en&smoothing=0 Google Books Ngrams for these terms]

It looks like we chose the worst of the options for the title - it should be either telegraph messenger or telegraph boy. --Joy (talk) 23:57, 21 December 2024 (UTC)
