Expand?

For the three short stories, I feel that we have to rewrite the summary into teasers, just as the ones presented for the five books on the main PJ page. Whether we should include full summaries should be discussed.

Also, I have a problem thinking of what to add instead of the short stories' plots...

Anyone has ideas? --Mktsay123 (talk) 15:46, 12 March 2009 (UTC)

  • I think that the stories should be in detail
  • I think it would be nice if the extract of the Last Olympian was included
  • I think we should scour the Internet and add a reception section
  • I will post this discussion in the PJTF page --Pmlinediter (talk) 09:24, 15 March 2009 (UTC)

In detail? OK then, I'm not opposing this. But we'll have to have a talk with NGG to put in the extract f TLO...... The most necessary part is the reception part, so let's work on that first. --Mktsay123 (talk) 10:10, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

I really think that the TLO extract is becoming a headache for all PJTF members (perhaps with the exception of NGG). It was actually a discussion about the extract between me and NGG when I suggested putting up a PJ task force. I think that NGG is overdoing this a bit, surely we can include the extract when it is a part of the book. But yes, the Reception part is most important and I too will work on it as soon as I come back from my holiday. And yes, the stories should be in detail (at least the plot should include the complete storyline). Pmlinediter (talk) 11:31, 16 March 2009 (UTC)

Cleanup

I have cleaned up the article to the best of my ability. I think it's OK now so I have removed the cleanup tag. Airplaneman (talk) 02:50, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Illustrations

Beside miscellaneous graphics, the book (first edition, third printing; US hardcover) includes:

  • 2 two-page black-and-white illustrations pp 78-81, listed in the table of contents as p77 Map of Camp Half-Blood. Namely, "Camp Half-Blood", map, and "Annabeth Chase's Camp Trunk", an open trunk with contents labeled. These are not signed but the title page implies Steve James.
  • 8 color portraits of characters that illustrate faux trading cards on four sheets of glossy stock unnumbered between pp122/123. Per title page these are "character illustrations" copyright 2009 Antonio Caparo (Antonio Javier Caparo [http://www.antoniocaparo.com/ homepage]; [https://www.behance.net/ajcaparo at behance gallery]; [http://www.shannonassociates.com/artist/antoniojaviercaparo at his agent]).

"Faux" trading cards because they are printed back to back on four sheets and none of the most important characters are missing, which suggests to me that they are identical in every new copy of the book. In the intact copy I examined, the eight characters are Zeus Poseidon Athena Ares Percy Annabeth Grover Chiron. The portraits are 8 of the 26 that Disney now features at [http://readriordan.com/series/percy-jackson-and-the-olympians Percy Jackson and the Olympians].

Perhaps all 26 portrait illustrations appear in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Ultimate Guide? --P64 (talk) 22:47, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

: The Demigod Diaries credits James and Caparo similarly, PJ Task Force honcho User:2ReinreB2 reported several hours ago [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Novels/Percy_Jackson_Task_Force#Illustrator_John_Rocco]. --P64 (talk) 22:55, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
