The link on this page to Shorty Long is erroneous in that it is to an African-American, R&B singer who was born in 1940 in Detroit, Michigan. The Shorty Long who performed the role of Herman in the 1956 Broadway production of the musical was a country western singer who was born in Reading, PA in 1923. He had a band called "The Santa Fe Rangers". His birth name was Emidio Vagnoni. --71.252.27.202 13:51, 26 November 2005 (UTC)

:My father, Nat Tannen, was a music publisher who published songs by the correct Shortly Long who acted in the original production of "The Most Happy Fella" and I believe that Nat connected Shorty with Frank Loesser, who wrote "The Most Happy Fella".

There is currently a discussion on article layout for Musical Theatre article taking place at the talk page for WP:WPMT. Taking note of that discussion, I moved the Synopsis & Song list sections to follow the History section. This actually simply follows the existing written guidelines. I also note the preference of some members of "The Committee" that the Synopsis be first, directly after the lead (ie: Lead; Synopsis/Song; History; Production(s); etc). I did not make that change in this article at this time, as it has not been officially adopted, but will, of course, follow whatever the guidelines wind up to be.JeanColumbia (talk) 09:58, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
