Question Regarding Future I-74 (and others)
I have a quick question regarding the usage of “Future I-74” in both the infobox and the junction list. This article, a long with a couple others use “Future I-74” before US 74 and US 76 along sections west of Bolton. A couple others, including North Carolina Highway 410 just use US 74/US 76. The same goes for I-26 north of Asheville, which also has “Future I-26” signage on the infobox of the articles on that cross it.
I understand that we are certain I-74 will be routed along this section of freeway. But we also know the same about I-74 along US 52 north of Winston-Salem, I-87 along the US 64 freeway between Wendell and Williamston, and I-42 along the Goldsboro Bypass. But none of these segments are signed as “Future I-XX” in other infoboxes and junction lists. So I just want to know what the proper designation of these roads should be, so I can apply a uniform approach.--Ncchild (talk) 16:45, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
:For the most part, Future Interstate corridors should not be signed in the infobox/junction list because they are non-routable (they don't officially exist yet). However, exceptions exist as there are "signed" routes of Future Interstates because of various reasons. For Future I-26, signage exists to help connect travelers between the two segments of I-26 in North Carolina. --WashuOtaku (talk) 17:29, 13 December 2020 (UTC)
