It should not. According WP:CRITERIA the names of the articles are based on the title is a name or description of the subject that someone familiar with. I am against your edit. :Ok, to explain my edit. Firstly previous name was just wrong on a few levels. To begin, "bey" should not be capitalised, since its title, or a prefix, not part of the surname itself, and it should be "bey" since that's the Azerbaijani form; bek is Russian translation. Secondly, while I question if it should be Yadigar or Yadigarov, I changed it to the first one, as that's how he styled his surname since moving to Poland. Thought if someone with more knowledge his biography, could argue why it potentially should still be Yadigarov instead, I would appreciate getting definitive answer after all. Also, it should be Yadigar and not Jedigar, since the latter is just Polish transcription, and not English one. Azerbaijani is kinda wierd case of a language, since, while it has Latin script, the names are still transcripted to English spellings here on Wikipedia. As such, we should use English transcription, and not Polosh or Russian ones. Person that previously renamed the artilce, said that that's what sources said, but sources in the article are in Polish so ofcourse, the name in them would also be in Polish. You simply do not want to see the name in the form in which it has been preserved. :::As I said before, it's "bey" and even if it would be "bek" (which again, is Russian/Polish transcription) it shouldn't be capitalised. You can even go to Polish Wikipedia and see they don't capitlise it either. The fact you keep insists it should be capitalised shows you do not have basic knowlage how this kind of names work. To give similar example, would you capitalise "von" in German surname or "de la" in Spanish surname? Secondly, as I said, Azerbaijani language is special case, just go and look how every Azerbaijani person has their name transcribed for English spelling here on Wikipedia. And again, note that while he lived in Poland, he kept using Azerbaijani name, just transcribed to Polish spelling instead.Artemis Andromeda (talk) 09:15, 20 June 2025 (UTC)
