(XEDIT), that displayed the raw{{efn|Sometimes with line numbers separated from text, or using colors for highlighting.}} text of the file being displayed, and thus made it as easy to edit markup as to edit other text. That is very different from editors where markup is rendered and otherwise suppressed.
