The term full screen editor has historically been applied to editors, e.g., Structured Programming Facility{{cite manual

}}
(SPF), VM/SP System Product Editor{{cite manual

| date = September 1983
| edition = Third
| work = Virtual Machine/System Product

(XEDIT), that displayed the raw{{efn|Sometimes with line numbers separated from text, or using colors for highlighting.}} text of the file being displayed, and thus made it as easy to edit markup as to edit other text. That is very different from editors where markup is rendered and otherwise suppressed.
I propose removing the text from the article and adding Full-screen writing program to either {{tl|distinguish}} or to the See also section, or both. --Shmuel (Seymour J.) Metz Username:Chatul (talk) 15:32, 3 January 2022 (UTC)
:@Chatul Do you mean "removing the text", or removing just the term "full screen editor". I assume the latter, which is fine by me. Nick Moyes (talk) 01:42, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
