Tan Ka Wan

Tan Ka Wan ({{zh|t=蛋家灣}}) is a village in the Sai Kung North area of Tai Po District, Hong Kong.

Geography

Tan Ka Wan comprises several smaller villages: Tse Uk ({{zh|t=謝屋|labels=no}}), Lau Uk ({{zh|t=劉屋|labels=no}}), Lam Uk ({{zh|t=林屋|labels=no}}) and Mo Uk ({{zh|t=巫屋|labels=no}}).{{cite web |url=https://www.info.gov.hk/tpb/en/papers/TPB/1058-tpb_9613.pdf |title=TPB Paper No. 9613. A natural stream in Tan Ka Wan flows from south to north towards Long Harbour. Estuarine mangrove can be found at the coastal area.

Features

In 2014, the village was described as "sparsely populated with abandoned houses in dilapidated condition".

A drug rehabilitation centre, the Ling Oi Tan Ka Wan Centre, managed by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong is situated in Tan Ka Wan. The rehabilitation centre in Tan Ka Wan started in 1984.[http://www.lingoi.org/aboutus.php?language=en Ling Oi Centre - About Us]
