Tanner's Brook is a {{convert|7|km|adj=on}} river that rises in North Baddesley and flows to Southampton Water.{{cite web|author=|title=Tanner's Brook Water Body|url=https://environment.data.gov.uk/catchment-planning/WaterBody/GB107042016620|access-date=10 November 2021|website=Catchment Data Explorer|publisher=Environment Agency|archive-date=17 June 2024|archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20240617190415/https://environment.data.gov.uk/catchment-planning/WaterBody/GB107042016620|url-status=live}} The brook's name comes from a 19th-century tannery that stood close to where the river passed under Millbrook Road in Millbrook.

The longest tributary of Tanner's Brook is Hollybrook which joins it in Shirley.{{cite book |last=Burgess |first=Lawrence |date=1982 |title=The Streams and Watercourses Of Southampton |publisher=Friends of Old Southampton |pages=4–5 }}{{cite web |url=https://maps.hants.gov.uk/push/Reports/PUSH_SFRA_SCC_Guidance_for_Upload.pdf |title=PUSH Strategic Flood Risk Assessment 2016 Update Guidance Document: Southampton City Council |date=2016 |website=Hantsweb |publisher=Partnership for Urban South Hampshire |access-date=10 May 2017 |archive-date=3 January 2018 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180103133653/https://maps.hants.gov.uk/push/Reports/PUSH_SFRA_SCC_Guidance_for_Upload.pdf |url-status=live }} Above where the two streams join they both flow through sections of Lordsdale Greenway.{{cite web |url=https://www.southampton.gov.uk/people-places/parks-open-spaces/wildlife-greenways/greenways/lordsdale-greenway.aspx |title=Lordsdale Greenway |website=southampton.gov.uk |publisher=Southampton City Council |access-date=15 March 2018 |archive-date=16 March 2018 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180316151824/https://www.southampton.gov.uk/people-places/parks-open-spaces/wildlife-greenways/greenways/lordsdale-greenway.aspx |url-status=live }} On its lower course Tanner's Brook flows through Millbrook and is probably the brook that gives Millbrook its name. Within Millbrook a small section of the river was culverted during the construction of the Salisbury and Southampton Canal. This was filled with concrete in 1964 as part of a flood relief project.{{cite journal |last1=Course |first1=Edwin |date=1976 |title=Southampton Canal Tunnel |url=http://www.hantsfieldclub.org.uk/publications/hampshirestudies/digital/1970s/vol33/Course.pdf |journal=Proceedings of the Hampshire Field Club & Archaeological Society |volume=33 |page=74 |access-date=10 May 2017 |archive-date=3 January 2018 |archive-url=https://web.archive.org/web/20180103133702/http://www.hantsfieldclub.org.uk/publications/hampshirestudies/digital/1970s/vol33/Course.pdf |url-status=live }}{{cite book|first=Edwin |last=Welch|title=The Bankrupt Canal: Southampton and Salisbury 1795–1808 |year=1966 |pages=24–25|publisher=Southampton City Council }}

Originally the river was joined on the mudflats of Southampton Water by Wimpson Stream but with the mudflats being reclaimed by the expanding docks the Wimpson Stream now joins Tanner's Brook before it reaches Southampton Water.
