Career
Bvegadzi qualified as a lone judoka for the Congolese squad in the women's heavyweight class (+78 kg) at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by placing third and receiving a berth from the African Championships in Tunis. She lost her opening match to Cuban judoka and eventual silver medalist Daima Beltrán, who quickly pinned and subdued her on the tatami with an ashi guruma (leg wheel) throw in forty-three seconds.{{cite news|title=Judoca japonesa roba primer oro olímpico a delegación cubana|trans-title=Japanese judoka steals Cuba's first Olympic gold|language=Spanish|url=http://www.diariocolatino.com/es/20040820/deportes/11812/Judoca-japonesa-roba-primer-oro-ol%C3%ADmpico-a-delegaci%C3%B3n-cubana.htm?tpl=69|publisher=Diario Co Latino|date=20 August 2004|accessdate=11 December 2014|url-status=dead|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20141213042317/http://www.diariocolatino.com/es/20040820/deportes/11812/Judoca-japonesa-roba-primer-oro-ol%C3%ADmpico-a-delegaci%C3%B3n-cubana.htm?tpl=69|archivedate=13 December 2014}}
Bvegadzi gave herself a chance for Congo's first Olympic medal at these Games through the repechage, but came up short in another defeat to Great Britain's Karina Bryant by an ippon and a tsuri goshi (lifting hip throw) nearly two minutes into their first playoff of the draft.{{cite web|title=Judo: Women's Heavyweight (+78kg/+172 lbs) Repechage Round 1|url=http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/olympics_2004/martial_arts/results/3534208.stm|work=Athens 2004|publisher=BBC Sport|date=15 August 2004|accessdate=31 January 2013}}{{cite news|last=Deedes|first=Henry|title=Olympic digest|url=https://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/2385164/Olympic-digest.html|publisher=The Daily Telegraph|date=20 August 2004|accessdate=11 December 2014}}
