Team Lufthansa was an alliance of regional airlines which flew niche routes on behalf of Lufthansa. It was replaced with Lufthansa Regional in 2003.
Overview
Team Lufthansa was founded in 1996 by Lufthansa in the wake of the deregulation of the airline market as new competitors like Deutsche BA challenged established airlines.[https://www.spiegel.de/wirtschaft/offener-himmel-ueber-europa-a-c73e33cb-0002-0001-0000-000008674666?context=issue spiegel.de] (German) 9 March 1997, retrieved 1 May 2021 Besides connecting point-to-point destinations, the alliance also provided Lufthansa flights on niche routes from Frankfurt and Munich.
The founding members were later expanded by the accession of Rheintalflug, Air Littoral and Cirrus Airlines and since consisted of airlines from Germany, Denmark, Austria and France.[https://www.zeit.de/1997/47/Umschichtungen_bei_Regionalfliegern/komplettansicht zeit.de] (German) 14 November 1997, retrieved 1 May 2021[https://www.welt.de/print-welt/article502963/Eugen-Block-kehrt-ins-Luftfahrtgeschaeft-zurueck.html welt.de] (German) 17 February 2000, retrieved 1 May 2021
The alliance ceased to exist in 2003, when Lufthansa reorganized its regional network as Lufthansa Regional.{{cite web|url=http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/miles-more-lufthansa-austrian-swiss-other-partners/68747-lufthansa-regional-replaces-team-lufthansa.html|title=Lufthansa Regional replaces Team Lufthansa|accessdate=15 Mar 2012|date=16 Oct 2003}}
