Tech World (stylized in all capital letters) is one of the private sector pavilions at the Osaka-Kansai Expo 2025. However, this is technically a pavilion of Taiwan hosted by the Tamayama Digital Tech Company, a company established by Taiwan External Trade Development Council, as the nation does not have a country-specific pavilion because it is not part of the Bureau International des Expositions.{{cite web |last=Hayata |first=Takefumi |date=16 April 2025 |title=大阪・関西万博に台湾が「一民間企業」として参加せざるをえない理由、中国大陸との関係に左右されてきた歴史 |trans-title=Why Taiwan has no choice but to participate in the Osaka-Kansai Expo as a "private company"; its history has been influenced by its relationship with mainland China |url=https://toyokeizai.net/articles/-/871511?display=b |access-date=17 April 2025 |website=東洋経済オンライン |language=ja}}{{cite web |last=Affairs |first=Ministry of Foreign |last2=(Taiwan) |first2=Republic of China |date=7 March 2025 |title=Taiwan's pavilion for World Expo 2025 unveiled in Taipei |url=https://www.taiwantoday.tw/Economics/Top-News/266681/Taiwan%2527s-pavilion-for-World-Expo-2025-unveiled-in-Taipei |access-date=17 April 2025 |publisher=Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of China (Taiwan)}}

Name and concept
The name "Tech World" is believed to be a reference to Taiwan's Country code "TW".{{Cite web |date=2025-05-18 |title=台湾の最新テクノロジーを発信する万博パビリオン「TECH WORLD」:“共好”の精神で、世界と共に歩む |url=https://www.nippon.com/ja/guide-to-japan/gu900306/ |access-date=2025-05-24 |website=nippon.com |language=ja}} The pavilion's concept is "共好" (To be better together), and the pavilion is split into three sections, "life", "nature", and "future".
Controversy
The existence of a de-facto pavilion dedicated for Taiwan drew backlash from the People's Republic of China. Zhu Fenglian claimed that the Democratic Progressive Party is seeking to confuse the world and commented "repeating such acts will not change the fact that Taiwan is a part of China".{{Cite web |date=2025-04-16 |title=中国、「TW館」に不快感 大阪万博に台湾系団体参加で |url=https://www.nikkei.com/article/DGXZQOCB16D310W5A410C2000000/ |access-date=2025-05-24 |website=日本経済新聞 |language=ja}} To avoid confusion, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Japan requested Taiwan clearly state the pavilion's status as a private sector pavilion.{{Cite web |last=NEWS |first=KYODO |title=Osaka Expo: Japan requests Taiwan pavilion be labeled as privately operated |url=https://english.kyodonews.net/news/2025/03/27d43ffa42e1-japan-requests-taiwan-pavilion-be-labeled-as-privately-operated.html |access-date=2025-05-24 |website=Kyodo News+}}
