{{notice|Creating a redirect to this template also requires updating the Lua pattern for detection of this template in Module:Contentious topics/aware}}

This template allows a user to signal their awareness of the contentious topics system, so that it is not necessary to warn them using {{tl|alert}}. This possibility was enacted by motion of the Arbitration Committee in July 2019.

= Usage =

Towards the top of your own talk page, add:

{{Contentious topics/aware|topic_code}}

where topic_code identifies the contentious topic(s) for which you assert awareness, and thus waive the need for notice.

You can specify multiple topics; select them from the full list of topic codes below.

class="wikitable mw-collapsible mw-collapsed" width="100%" style="font-size: 88%;"

!{{Navbar-collapsible|Full list of topic codes|Contentious topics/table

}

|-

|{{Template:Contentious topics/table}}

|}

For example:

{{Contentious topics/aware|ap|e-e|gg}}

displays

{{Contentious topics/aware|ap|e-e|gg}}

Then, if another editor tries to alert you about one of these topics being a contentious topic, they will see:

{{blockquote|{{#invoke:Contentious topics/aware|detect|testTitle = Template:Contentious topics/aware/doc}}}}

within the output of Special:AbuseFilter/602, Mediawiki:Abusefilter-warning-CT.
