:Source: A 14 March 2019 KTVZ [https://www.ktvz.com/news/brooks-resources-marks-50th-with-free-museum-admission/1059642098 news report] says: "In 1969, Brooks Resources Corporation was born … Thirteen years later, Brooks Resources donated 135 acres south of Bend to educator Donald Kerr, and the then-named Oregon High Desert Museum was born." In addition, [https://www.newspapers.com/image/384625038/?terms=%22Brooks%2BResources%22 Corvallis Gazette-Times article] dated 7 May 1979 (p. 10) specifically highlights the separation of Brooks Resources from Brooks-Scanlon, saying: "Brooks-Scanlon Inc. has received an Internal Revenue Service ruling allowing a Brooks subsidiary to become a separate corporation, the firm announced. The forest products concern said Brooks Resources Corp, will become a separate firm and continue to operate in the land development area. … The subsidiary…has concentrated its business on central Oregon resort and recreational home development."
