{{intricate template}}

The purpose of this template is similar to other continent and region topic templates, however instead of the name of countries being affixed to changeable strings, the country's demonym is affixed. This template is distinct from the other continent and region topic templates because many national concepts, such as cuisine and literature, are more commonly referred to by using the demonym (French cuisine, French literature) than the country name ("Cuisine of France," "Literature of France").

Additional documentation for Template:European topic

=Vatican City=

As the Vatican is such a small country, with 0.44 km2 and 826 inhabitants, many articles about it would be meaningless; for example, "Hinduism in the Vatican City". So the condition for the Vatican to appear in any template created using this one is the preexistence of the article about the Vatican. That is why the Vatican City doesn't appear on many templates (such as {{tl|Hinduism in Europe}}).
