New issue
Can we get the format to display after the link again, and not after the year? Thanks. Imzadi 1979 → 00:50, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
:Hang on. Something odd with the update I made. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 02:19, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
::I know that this is probably beyond the scope of this talk page, but it would be great if Citation 1 templates like this one that have a medium pre-defined ("Map" in this case) could combine the format and that medium together to eliminate the double parentheses. So a PDF map could be "(PDF map)" or whatever instead of "(Map). (PDF)." or however it will appear. Imzadi 1979 → 02:32, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
:CS1 places {{para|format}} before the link, which does seem odd, but this is how all the other CS1 templates work; compare to {{tl|cite book}}:
{{Markup|t1=Cite map markup|t2=Renders as
|
|{{Cite map |publisher=Kansas Department of Transportation |title=Official State Transportation Map |url=http://www.ksdot.org/burtransplan/maps/state-pdf/kansas0708.pdf |year=2011 |format=PDF}}
}}
{{Markup|t1=Cite book markup|t2=Renders as
|
|{{Cite book |author=Kansas Department of Transportation |title=Official State Transportation Map |url=http://www.ksdot.org/burtransplan/maps/state-pdf/kansas0708.pdf |year=2011 |format=PDF}}
}}
:This just does not seem right, so I started a discussion at Template talk:Citation/core#Format. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 02:58, 19 September 2011 (UTC)
Some strange output
Look at footnotes 6, 58 and 59 on U.S. Route 2 in Michigan, and you'll see that because I don't have an edition defined in those references (they maps don't have editions), we're getting a comma after the scale, a space and then the period. Can someone fix this please? The article is headed to WP:FAC in the very near future. Imzadi 1979 → 23:28, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
:I think I know what is going on. I will work on this tomorrow. A technical issue like this should never be a FAC showstopper though. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 23:43, 15 November 2011 (UTC)
::{{fixed}} Since the parameters feed into one meta-parameter, the separators need to be conditional.

To get |at=
added, could we get the sandbox synced over to the live template. This will allow us to use custom section/inset/page numbers as needed. I've already tested the code at Interstate 375 (Michigan) (footnote 8 is using at for a range of sections on different insets on three different pages, and it appeared fine if I used {{tl|cite map/sandbox}}.) Thanks.

:Looks good to me. A simple way to include location info to complex for the standard fields. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 18:03, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

Parameters
This template supports these parameter sets:
authorseditorsothers- language
- laysummary
- id
- ids from arxiv to zbl
display options
{{tlx|csdoc|map_pages}} now documents page/pages/at for this template. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 22:50, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
:Actually, no, it does not. The authors, editors and others parameters have been excluded in favor of publisher per past consensus. Imzadi 1979 → 22:53, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
:But editors and others are supported. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 23:09, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
::They shouldn't be... kinda pointless if authors aren't supported. Imzadi 1979 → 23:30, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
:::Easy enough. What about the others? ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 23:40, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
::::Language should be, but how could you have a laysummary of a map? If you can, that's fine, but if you can't, why support it? (I honestly don't know, so that's why I'm asking.) Imzadi 1979 → 23:47, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
:::::It is also used for a review. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 23:52, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
::::::Removed the struck parameter sets. Let me know of any other updates. ---— Gadget850 (Ed) talk 00:24, 15 January 2012 (UTC)
