Dimensions imperial vs. metric
It appears that this template always lists the metric dimensions first. This isn't always desirable; it'd be nice if the code could be improved so that artworks in weird imperial countries could give preference to the units most familiar there. Cheers, Sdkb talk 04:44, 8 October 2024 (UTC)

:I agree. For an American artist who created a work in America that is displayed in an American museum, such as The Migration Series, it is very strange/wrong for the infobox to display "30 cm × 46 cm (12 in × 18 in)"

Edit links
Why does this template add edit links (blue pencils) to some pieces of metadata but not others? And why does it even need the individual edit links when there is an "edit on Wikidata" link at the bottom. The blue pencils just seem like unneeded distraction. If someone needs to make a correction, they can just click the "edit on Wikidata" link. Nosferattus (talk) 04:03, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

:: No idea, but if you can provide an example I'll see if I can have a look. It's probably wikidata magic that's got nothing to do with this template per se. Chris Cunningham (user:thumperward) (talk) 10:53, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
template improperly italicizes cjk and likely other non-latin-script 'other' titles.
See the infobox at Shigisan Engi Emaki where the {{para|other_title_1}} parameter renders as ja: 信貴山縁起絵巻.
MOS:FOREIGN specifically addresses this saying, in part: "Text written in non-Latin scripts such as Greek, Cyrillic, and Chinese should not be italicized or put in bold"
Consider replacing the existing {{para|subheader}} code with something like this (not extensively tested):
| 1 = {{#if:{{{other_title_1|}}}|{{#if:{{{other_language_1|}}}|{{native name|{{{other_language_1|}}}|{{{other_title_1|}}}}}|{{{other_title_1|}}}}}}}
| 2 = {{#if:{{{other_title_2|}}}|{{#if:{{{other_language_2|}}}|{{native name|{{{other_language_2|}}}|{{{other_title_2|}}}}}|{{{other_title_2|}}}}}}}
}}
