Sir Terence Harrison (April 1933 – 21 June 2019) was an industrialist from the northeast of England who was Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce Holdings plc.
Career
Harrison was born in Wingate, County Durham, the son of a miner and a shop assistant.{{cite web|url=https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2019/sep/16/sir-terry-harrison-obituary|title=Obituary: Sir Terry Harrison|publisher=The Guardian|date=16 September 2019|access-date=22 February 2022}} After attending the local grammar school he undertook an apprenticeship with Richardsons Westgarth & Company before graduating with a mechanical engineering degree from Durham University in 1955. Following national service with the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers,{{London Gazette|issue=40872|page=5092|supp=y|date=4 September 1956}} he joined Clarke Chapman as an engineering graduate and became managing director in 1969. He went on to be Chief Executive of Northern Engineering Industries from 1983 to 1986 and then Chairman of Northern Engineering Industries from 1986 to 1989.
