The Great Gritzbe's Flying Food Show was the name of a popular Chicago restaurant during the 1970s.
It opened in 1974, under owner Richard Melman. The style was designed by Lettuce Entertain You. Institution magazine selected it as one of the top ten in design for 1975. The restaurant featured a cheese bar and a dessert bar. The interior was painted completely grey.{{cite news|title=Footloose in the Windy City|url=https://www.newspapers.com/clip/1935473/before_you_leave/|work=The Des Plaines Herald|location=Arlington Heights, Illinois|date=18 Jun 1977|page=55|via=newspapers.com}} Steve Stone, part owner, also worked there during the off season, as host, wine steward, waiter and bartender.{{cite news|last1=Ryman|first1=Rich|title=Steve Stone: Restaurateur or Ballplayer?|url=https://www.newspapers.com/clip/1935419/steve_stone/|work=Belvidere Daily Republican|location=Belvidere, Illinois|date=29 Nov 1974|page=2|via=newspapers.com}}
However, by 1983, business had slowed. Melman changed the name to The Not So Great Gritzbe's in a bid to revitalize the restaurant. Business continued to drop off, and several months later, the restaurant closed.{{cite web|url=http://www.inc.com/magazine/19881001/5992_pagen_2.html|title=The Man With the Golden Touch|last=Larson|first=Erik|date=1988-10-01|work=Inc.|page=2|accessdate=23 May 2011}}{{cite news|last1=Silverman|first1=Ruth|title=Eat, Drink and be Melman|url=https://www.newspapers.com/clip/1935608/not_everything/|work=The Daily Herald|location=Chicago, Illinois|date=15 Oct 1986|page=2, sect. 2|via=newspapers.com}}
